Abstract:
In this research I examine the economist for politicalcartoon and rhetorical strategies of representing Sino-African relations toascertain the kind of media portrayal is diffused. I also juxtapose this representationwith cartoons coming out of Chinese newspaper (China Daily Africa Weekly,actually) and raise some suggestions as to how these are controversial.

Herresearch centers on studying the concept of power at the international leveland zooms into Sino-African power relations as a specific specialization. Priorto embarking on the doctoral journey, she was a Fulbright scholar in 2007 andattended Missouri State University for a Master’s degree in InternationalAffairs and Administration. In 2010, Ms. Benabdallah worked and lived inDalian, Liaoning (China) for a year directing the English programs of MissouriState University’s Business College and running language tests for exchangestudents. Her research interests include: EmergingPowers, Chinese Foreign Aid to African States, South-south relations’ powergaps, Theories of governance, and International Development.
